One of the challenges of the BMC (Municipal Libraries of A Coruña) is to become " lifelong learning centers " and to be between the community they serve and the information resources. The BMC are conscious that they need to incorporate learning, or lifelong learning, as one of the main strategies of the Network, if they want to adapt the role of the public library to the demands of the digital age. In 2013 starts the volunteer program with four activities ("Coa Lingua de fóra", "Cybervolunteers," Easy reading "and" The hour of reading ") and eighteen volunteers. These programs are currently being maintained and a new adult literacy campaign has been created: "It is never late", in collaboration with Cáritas. Comparison of resource and consumer dynamics in Atlantic and Mediterranean streams

This study integrates a wide range of ecological data into a comprehensive framework describing the functional and structural dynamics of streams located under different climatic conditions in Spain. Standing stocks of particulate organic matter, algal biomass and macroinvertebrate communities are examined and compared between Atlantic streams of North-West Spain and Mediterranean temporary streams of the island of Majorca. This data set, which link potential food sources to consumer dynamics, allows explanation for the structural and functional variability exhibited by these two fluvial systems. Results indicate that the differences in the dynamics of community trophic structure of the two types of streams are a reflection of their hydrology and climate characteristics.En este estudio se proporciona un marco conceptual que contrasta la dinámica estructural y funcional de ríos localizados en distintas regiones climáticas existentes en España. Con este propósito se examina un amplio rango de datos de materia orgánica particulada bentónica, de biomasa algal y de comunidades de invertebrados en ríos atlánticos del Noroeste de la Península y en ríos temporales Mediterráneos localizados en la isla de Mallorca. Esta serie de datos ecológicos, que relacionan las fuentes de alimentación potenciales con sus consumidores, suministra una base que permite diferenciar no sólo la estructura, si no también el funcionamiento fluvial de ambos sistemas. Los resultados indican que las variaciones en la importancia y dinámica de la estructura trófica en ambos tipos de ríos son un reflejo de sus características hidrológicas y climáticas

Colorful Associahedra and Cyclohedra

Every n-edge colored n-regular graph G naturally gives rise to a simple abstract n-polytope, the colorful polytope of G, whose 1-skeleton is isomorphic to G. The paper describes colorful polytope versions of the associahedron and cyclohedron. Like their classical counterparts, the colorful associahedron and cyclohedron encode triangulations and flips, but now with the added feature that the diagonals of the triangulations are colored and adjacency of triangulations requires color preserving flips. The colorful associahedron and cyclohedron are derived as colorful polytopes from the edge colored graph whose vertices represent these triangulations and whose colors on edges represent the colors of flipped diagonals.Comment: 21 pp, to appear in Journal Combinatorial Theory

Seasonal changes of benthic communities in a temporary stream of Ibiza (Balearic Islands)

Seasonal changes in benthic communities (diatoms and invertebrates) in a temporary stream of the Ibiza island (Balearic Islands, Spain) were studied. The physico-chemical parameters, diatom quality indices and some invertebrate metrics were used to describe and identify the observed temporal changes in benthic communities. A total of 43 diatom taxa and 51 invertebrate taxa were identified. Only 4 diatom species appeared in all the samples: Achnanthidium minutissimum, Diploneis oblongella, Navicula veneta and Nitzschia inconspicua. The invertebrate community was dominated by the orders Diptera, Oligochaeta and Gastropoda along the sampling period. Changes in the physico-chemical parameters of the water and hydrological events determined the structure of the benthic communities in this temporary stream.Se han estudiado los cambios estacionales de las comunidades bentónicas (diatomeas e invertebrados) en un arroyo temporal de la isla de Ibiza (Islas Baleares, España). Los parámetros físico-químicos, índices diatomológicos de calidad y algunos métricos de invertebrados se han utilizado para describir e identificar los cambios temporales que se observan en las comunidades bentónicas. Se han identificado un total de 43 taxones de diatomeas y 51 taxones de invertebrados. Únicamente 4 especies aparecen en todas las muestras: Achnanthidium minutissimum, Diploneis oblongella, Navicula veneta y Nitzschia inconspicua. La comunidad de invertebrados estuvo dominada por los órdenes Diptera, Oligochaeta y Gastropoda a lo largo del período de muestreo. Escape room in education: a bibliometric study

[EN] The impact of technologies in all areas is one of the main points that characterize the current society. In the educational context, recently, great efforts are being made to adapt the system to characteristics and needs of the students of the 21st century. Gamification in education consist on the use of structures, characteristics, dynamics and aesthetics of games for educational purposes, to increase students participation and motivation. The escape room is a gamified activity in which one or more teams must leave a place during a limited time solving a challenge whose goal is learning. This study pretends to analyze research trends through a bibliometric study of scientific production deposited in Scopus. 32 articles were obtained for the analysis. The results indicate an increase in scientific publications in last decade, and the main mean of dissemination are journals, specially in Social Sciences field. In addition, data shows the low impact and the absence of medium and large producers.
